The Competition


 
 
 
 
 
The competition is held on a bi-annual calendar in accordance with the terms of the Constitution of the International Curling Fellowship of Rotarians and in 2014 the competition will be hosted by Aberdeen St. Fittick Rotary Club in Aberdeen Scotland.
The competition comprises two divisions each to be played as a ‘round robin’ tournament followed by the best four teams in each division playing off in semis and finals for the medal positions.
 
 
 

The Championship Division
Competition by eleven teams : Scotland 3, USA 3, Canada 4, England 1, over eleven round robin draws followed by a semis and finals play off between the best four teams to decide the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal positions.
 
 
The Friendship Division
Competition by up to ten teams drawn from the participating nations, Scotland, USA, Canada and England over nine round robin draws followed by a semis and finals play off between the best four teams to decide the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal positions.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Rolf MacKeen Fellowship Award
The Award was established in honour of the late Rolf Mackeen, a long term member of the Montreal-Westward Rotary Club, who was involved with the International Curling Fellowship of Rotarians from its inception in 1972 until 2002 when he retired. For his 26 years of service to the Fellowship he was appointed Honorary President and a new trophy 'The Rolf MacKeen Fellowship Award' was established in his honour..
 
 
The Venue
Home for the 2014 World Championships is the international standard facility at Curl Aberdeen which provides six ice sheets, enabling simultaneous play of all games in each of the competition rounds. The spacious lounge and viewing gallery accommodation will provide excellent spectator and relaxation opportunities during and between games
